Wheelchair Accessible Workshop
I am fortunate to have developed a wheelchair accessible workshop. Through a process of testing various tools and capabilities, I have discovered what is possible for me - a T8 paraplegic 'active' wheelchair user - to be able to use, both confidently and safely.
Hopefully, I have progressed from a complete woodturning novice. I have settled on pens as a specialism, not least because it uses the mandrel (it feels safe!) and doesn't require me to lean over the lathe (limited reach).
If you would like to see, test or use this workshop at any time please contact us.
I have a small bandsaw, mini pillar drill, belt/disc sander, a selection of power and hand tools and 2 fabulous lathes.
If you are a wheelchair user or need an accessible workspace, come and test it and see if it works for you. Turn your own pen, complete your own project or just see the world's smallest (probably) workshop, just 'get in touch'.
We are located just outside Wallingford, OX10 8DY
